It was easy to set up, easy to light and gave off plenty of heat for our 8' x 26' rv trailer. After using the portable Mr Heater twice it has worked well.
The oxygen safety sensor, while well intentioned, is so sensitive that the unit shuts itself off. Very annoying. Most of the nice things folks say about this unit are true. Once it does that, good luck getting it re-started or to stay lit even if you thoroughly vent the enclosure or take it outside. So, if you are a sea level camper it's probably dandy, if you are a mountains and high desert camper, probably want to look elsewhere. There are a couple nits: if you use the 12' hose you must introduce the gas verrrryyyy sloowwwwwllllyyyy or it trips a pressure switch and you'll have trouble getting it fired up. The biggest nit from my perspective: good luck using the thing over about 5000' elevation.
We'll stay warm and toasty. I'm glad to have this product. We've got several inches of ice and snow and more on the way.
I live in a 900 square feet apartment and along with a tiny little $12 space heater, my apartment is nice and toasty. Each year I have my gas shut off (on purpose) to save $ when spring gets here. The package on this product says it will heat 200 square feet.
Well, apparantly spring wasn't quite here yet. (I won't take the risk of running it overnight, though, even though I do have carbon monoxide detectors in two rooms). I do have my sliding patio door open about a fingers width for ventilation and it's even heating that large room despite the heat loss.
I'm thankful I bought this a few months ago as part of my emergency preparedness.
I really can't make recommendations of how well it heats an indoor area, since we have been using it outdoors. Also, it is sensitive to movement. My daughter's school soccer season is during February and March, so we have some pretty cool afternoon and evening games (down in the low 30's last night). Although I'm sure it would do great in a hunting house, small cabin, or similar setting. Everyone that sees it says, "Hey, I've gotta' get one of those". I bought this on the recommendation of friends.
We have been using this to keep us warm while watching my daughter play soccer. If it is slightly bumped or nudged it will turn off (which I'm sure is a safety feature). I am not disappointed. The only negative things I have noticed is that it can be difficult to light if it is breezy outdoors. Overall, we're very happy with the purchase and would recommend it (and have done so to our friends). It is lightweight, easily transported, and trouble free.
This definitely helps knock down the chill factor.
We found it really nice to be able to shut it off and turn it back on when we wanted to. Mr. Heater to any one who needs a portable heat source. I would recommend the Mr. Heater preformed better than that I had expected. A friend and I took it ice fishing in our two man Ice Fishing Tent and we were kept nice and warm, even were able to heat up some food using aluminum foil.
